Description
We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join an UpMee client — a fast-growing manufacturing group with operations across Central Europe. You'll be the trusted people partner to country managers and functional heads, owning the agenda across talent, performance, and organisational design.
This isn't a back-office HR role. You'll sit at the leadership table, push back when the people implications of a decision don't add up, and help shape a business that's genuinely a good place to work as it scales past 2,000 employees.
Responsibilities
- Advise senior leadership on workforce planning, succession, and organisational structure — including the trade-offs they'd rather not hear about.
- Lead employee relations and complex case management with sound judgement and discretion.
- Partner with talent acquisition to attract senior commercial and operational hires across the region.
- Drive culture and engagement initiatives that move the needle on retention, not just the survey scores.
- Own performance management and calibration cycles, coaching managers to set higher bars and have harder conversations.
- Translate business strategy into a clear, prioritised people plan with measurable outcomes each quarter.
Requirements
- 7+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 in a senior business-partnering role.
- Strong working knowledge of Polish labour law and practical experience with cross-border employment in the EU.
- Excellent stakeholder management and conflict-resolution skills — you can disagree with a country manager and keep the relationship.
- Strong commercial instinct; you frame people decisions in the context of what the business actually needs.
- Comfortable presenting to executives and pushing back constructively when the data doesn't support the request.
- Fluent English and Polish.
- Nice to have: manufacturing or industrial sector experience, cross-border HR coordination across CEE, CIPD or equivalent professional certification.
